The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS), an international Catholic organization that advocates for refugees and forced migrants, invites European students in higher education institutions to enter its “Access to Asylum” journalism competition. The contest is open only to students in member states of the Council of Europe. JRS does not discriminate based on religion. Deadline: February 22.

Submissions should discuss the theme “Access to Asylum,” focusing on individuals seeking access to the European asylum system. This theme can be interpreted broadly to include, for example, forced migrants who do not qualify for legal refugee status yet still require protection.

Submissions should be typed in Times New Roman font and in 12pt size, should not exceed 1200 words in length and should not be previously published. For more information, visit http://www.jrseurope.org.
