Top US newspaper Web sites of 2008 named

Harvard University's Nieman Journalism Lab has published a list of the top 15 American newspaper Web sites in 2008.
The sites were ranked by average monthly unique visitors, according to Nielsen Online, which was the source for all data.
The site of the New York Times, with close to 20 million unique visitors per month, topped the list, followed by USA Today and the Washington Post.
The study showed an average rise of 12.1 percent in the number of users visiting the newspapers' Web sites.
Accordingly, the number of people visiting the Times in 2008 showed an increase of 33 percent from 2007.
