Annual war correspondents awards call for nominees
Organizers of the 16th edition of the Bayeux-Calvados Awards for War Correspondents invite journalists and media professionals to nominate those who have reported on conflict situations and/or the impact on civilians, or stories involving defense of freedom and democracy. The call for candidates is open until June 8.
Submissions can come in the form of radio, photo, television, print and online journalism. Reports must have been made between June 1, 2008 and May 31, 2009.
Alongside the awards ceremony, the Bayeux-Calvados Awards is a week of events and debates -- from October 5 to 10 -- about international news: exhibitions, evening debates, screenings, book fair, media forums, meetings with schoolchildren and more.
There is a EU€7600 (US$10,390 dollars) prize for each category.
