Environmental journalism sought for reporting contest in Russia

A contest in Russia that aims to foster environmental reporting and attract public attention to the theme of saving biodiversity in the eastern regions of Russia is now accepting entries. Deadline: May 15.
The contest, being organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), is accepting works in nine categories, including the "green belt of the Amur river," ecotourism, saving Siberian cedar, tigers, panthers and salmon, and modern energy projects.
Nominees from all media may submit up to five works. Award winners will be announced on World Environment Day, June 5. The awards will be presented at a special ceremony in Vladivostok, Russia on August 12. A 2-day seminar on ecology will follow.
Last year's contest received 40 videos and 148 print works from 62 journalists.
