The Institute for Further Education of Journalists (FOJO) in Sweden will host another international seminar on journalism and democracy, scheduled for May 26 to June 13 in Kalmar. The application deadline is February 10.

The program is open to journalists from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Course leaders Mats Andersson and Veronika Menjoun will hold the seminar in Russian.

The seminar will discuss the role of media in democracy and how this role changes from country to country. The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) will sponsor travel and lodging costs.
